CopyRight is a Hot Topic amoungst stitchers - Sizzling hot. Some of my favourite designers have been fighting the Copy Right wars for ages. Some will tell you it takes a toll. Some just get worn down and give up. It takes a toll not only in their pockets bit in our worlds. Really - folks stealing is Stealing Whether it's stuff like Dragon Dreams Jen talks about here Or the Russian site of doom ( It has more copy right violations than any other I have ever seen) or the folks who give away copies and keep the originals, thinking "It's ok everyone does it"
Well let me tell you NOT everyone does it. I don't and most stitchers I know online don't. It hurts all of us. Each time a stitcher steals from a designer - they steal from all of us. 'Cause you know what? Those Designers can't, don't and should not have to do what they do for free, and if enough folks steal from them, they eventually give up. Some already have because they have had enough of thievery, Others are speaking out against it and trying to make us all aware of the price. I'll be real blunt about the price.
The Price is them, the Price is our art....because with out them - the art is not going to last long. Because I don't know all that many stitchers who also design ALL of their own patterns. In fact I know of no one who designs their ALL of their own stuff. We are all enriched by the beauty the designers produce - and we are all diminished when they are stolen from. It needs to stop NOW.
And you know, I was browsing some of my favourite bloggers tonight and some that I've never heard of before and they are all talking about the same thing Copy right theft. PlainsFeminist and Belledame ( two favourites) and http://brownfemipower.com/?p=1764, who I have never heard of before and others, I am sure are all talking about people who fail to observe copy right.
Look It ain't all that hard - Just don't steal
You diminish all of us when you do. And I resent it. And I resent you for doing.
